The managing director of Preston-based financial services group, Taylor Patterson, has graduated with top honours from Manchester Metropolitan University's LEAD course.
Gillian Bardin, who was appointed to her current role at Taylor Patterson in 2006, completed the 10 month intensive development programme along with 17 other business leaders from across the North West. The course syllabus provides a framework for participants to increase profitability, develop their leadership skills and diversify and grow their businesses.
Commenting on her achievement, Gillian said: "Completing the LEAD course has been an enjoyable and valuable experience. 2012 is a big year of change in the financial services industry and Taylor Patterson as we prepare for a range of significant legislation changes including the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) which is set to significantly alter the way that consumers receive financial advice.
"In the context of change, strong and focused leadership is particularly important and I'm looking forward to putting the skills and experiences gained on the LEAD course into practice over the coming months and years."
At her graduation ceremony Gillian was also presented with a 'Small Business Knowledge Award' for which she was nominated by other course participants in recognition of her business accomplishments.
