The specialist pensions division at financial advisory firm Taylor Patterson has been boosted by a senior appointment.
Kerry Houghton joins Taylor Patterson’s SIPP and SSAS (Self Invested Personal Pension and Small Self Administed Schemes) team as business development manager and will oversee the growth of the division. Kerry, from Charnock Richard near Chorley, is a chartered financial planner and has previously worked at Rowanmoor and Hornbuckle Mitchell.
Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) is the name given to a UK government approved personal pension scheme, which allows individuals to make their own investment decisions from the full range of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) approved investments.
Small Self Administered Schemes (SSAS) are company schemes where members are usually directors or key staff. SIPP and SSAS are popular with individuals, and groups of investors, entrepreneurs and professionals for the range of investment opportunities open to them, particularly the ability for the SIPP to purchase commercial property.
Gillian Bardin, managing director of Taylor Patterson, said: “Due to their tax efficient nature, SIPP and SSAS are very popular investment vehicles. We are delighted to welcome someone of Kerry’s stature who will help develop this specialist team and cement our position as a leading provider.”
