The team at Taylor Patterson have been awarded 2nd place in this year’s Lancashire Cycle Challenge organised by Love to Ride.
The team took on the challenge for the first time in 2014, and due to the success decided to participate again this year. The Lancashire Cycle Challenge is a free, fun competition for organisations in Lancashire to compete to see who can encourage the highest percentage of staff to get on their bikes during a three week period.
Staff were encouraged to cycle to work, or jump on their bikes in the evenings and weekends and record the trips they made. Staff also attended the annual Tour De Avenham event (again in its second year) where members of the team lent bikes to each other at lunchtime in Avenham Park to give everyone the opportunity to participate.
Louise Potter, Director commented “This event is great fun and we always attract a high level of participation from the team at TP. Whether it’s our seasoned cyclists or novices who are jumping on a bike for the first time in years, the involvement from all is amazing. We are delighted to have achieved second place in the 20-49 employee category”.
Louise Potter and colleague Vicky Wade were invited to a presentation ceremony in Burnley to meet the sustainable travel team from Lancashire County Council and staff from Love to Ride, both organisations who help support the event. At the event the pair were presented with their winners’ certificate and prize.
