Preston-based financial services group Taylor Patterson raised more than £2,500 for charity in its annual quiz.
The total, which is an extra £600 on the amount raised last year, will go to Taylor Patterson’s nominated charity for 2011, Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Forty-two teams took part in Taylor Patterson’s fifth annual quiz at the Masonic Hall, Preston, last week. Pierce Accountants scooped first place, with Champion Accountants coming a close second.
A raffle and auction were also held on the night, with star prizes including a signed and framed England football shirt, a men’s Thomas Sabo watch and a round of golf at a De Vere golf club.
Managing director of Taylor Patterson, Gillian Bardin, commented: “We are so pleased to have raised such a fantastic total from the quiz. The event is always well-attended and we would like to thank everyone who came along on the night and donated. Our fundraising target for this year is £3,300 and this sum will go a long way to helping us achieve that.”
Derian House, based in Chorley, cares for children with terminal illnesses. Less than 10% of its funding comes from statutory sources, with the rest needing to be made up through fundraising.
