Taylor Patterson held its annual charity quiz night last Thursday [7 November] to raise over £2,000 for The Space Centre.
Lancashire’s business community gathered for the event, making up no less than 30 individual quiz teams, to show tremendous support for the organisation.
Held at the Masonic Hall in Preston, the fundraising initiative proved a huge success. Each attendee enjoyed a fun night out, surrounded by plenty of healthy competition and, most importantly, managed to raise lots of money for a worthy cause. Participants were quizzed on general knowledge, popular culture and lateral thinking. But it was Barclay’s Bank that claimed victory as the winning team on the night.
Fund Raising Co-ordinator at The Space Centre, Hilary Holden said about the event: “We are truly touched by the generosity demonstrated by Taylor Patterson and Preston’s business community. Without initiatives like this we simply would not be able to continue our work and for that we are entirely grateful.”
The Space Centre was named as Taylor Patterson’s chosen charity earlier this year and has raised a total of £4,715 for the organisation to date. The Space Centre provides a world of sensory stimulation and enables life skills to be developed through structured and educational programs.
Louise Potter, director at Taylor Patterson, said: “We’re really pleased to have raised so much money for such a great cause. None of this would have been possible without the donations and support from local businesses. Thank you to everyone who came along, it was a brilliant night and I hope you all enjoyed it.”
